Our Story Begins in Midvale
Connie Wang was born into restaurants as her father, Raymond Wang, was a lifelong restaurateur. He owned a Chinese icon in Utah, Kowloon Cafe in West Valley.
After college, she moved to SLC to help manage Kowloon Cafe. Kowloon, loved throughout the generations, it was the beginning but not where the story ends. In 2019, Raymond decided it was time to retire after decades in the industry.
The next chapter then began where Connie branched off to open Tokyo Teriyaki, near WinCo in Midvale.
What Makes Tokyo Teriyaki Special
We’re not a big chain. We’re a small, local, family-owned restaurant.
That means we care about every customer who walks in. Without you, small business is no business! Focused on quality ingredients, preparation, and taste, we don’t cut corners.
Every bowl we serve is made with time and heart, just like we would for our own family. Every customer treated as we would want to be treated. Every experience we strive to leave a positive taste, pun intended!
Our Mission Is to Give Back
Midvale is our home. The people here support us, and we do our best to support them. We give back through local events and help where we can. We believe food brings people together. It’s our goal to not just serve meals, but to be part of something bigger—our local community.
Why You Should Visit Tokyo Teriyaki
People come to Tokyo Teriyaki because they know they’ll get honest food made fresh. We care about what we serve and who we serve. If you want a meal that’s easy, filling, and made by people who care, stop by. We’re here, working hard, and ready to welcome you.
